Does staff really review these threads?

If so, could you PLEASE make something like the the furball fields or AvA except it has rules that are monitored.  This works for the TA and it is a great place for what it is intended for because of the rules and monitors.

Fights that are kept 1v1
no HO's
no trash talk other then friendly gigs...
No score
Basically just respectable play.

This seems like it would be a great stepping stone where you could have a variety of adversaries without the MA mentality.

The furball DA is fun but vertually impossible to complete a fight without somebody picking you or a buddy coming to assist when you don't want it.
I was recently engaged with a con and a friendly showed up to assist.  I asked him politly to leave us as 1v1.  I got no respose so I disengaged.  He started yelling for help and I told him to disengage and let me have him back.  I got a "NO"  so I waited till my con killed him and reengaged.

I really don't see why this could not be done.

Any staff comments please????

Not what I meant.   I meant either a small arena or group of 3 or 4  fields like the Furball in DA where 7 or 8 people could come so you have different people to fight but is monitored.

mods? :(

What you are describing is what the DA is intended to be.  The problem has always been those who do not want to use it as intented, by engaging when uninvited.

The DA is not intended for FFA furballing.  However there will always be those who will engage in FFA anyways.  Now, there is a portion of the map that invites the riff-raff to hang out in one area, and leave others who are using the arena as intended alone.  Sounds to me like you are hanging out in the wrong area.

Ideas on how to prevent players from not using the DA as intended have been discussed/considered, with instances of HTC chiming in.  I believe there are no quick fixes, that do not pose complications from HTC's point of view.

Thank you for your time in replying Murdr.
I think this is partly why you see 15 - 20 people in the TA that don't really need the TA. They simply want a controlled environment where riff raff is not allowed.  Really there is no other place where a group of courteous people that size can fly together and if someone enters who does not wish to play along.... they are booted. Period.

Sorry SAS_KID, it doesn't always work.

Me and a squad mate were practicing BNZ offence and defence the other day and someone else joined in uninvited.  My squadie asked him to back off and there was no response.  My squadie backed out, I kilt him and we went back to our training session.  The univited guest reupped and came back after me.  My squadie augered, switched sides and we both went after him.  It took several deaths on his part before he got the hint.

Some people just don't get it.

WWM there's always going to be a few guys who don't care about messing up what other people are doing.  I tend to ignore them and fly the way I want to.  It results in me dying more but I don't really care about that.  Riff Raff tends to get bored easily if they don't receive a response.

SCCA nice way of handling it

True, true..  but it was more fun to send him back to the tower a few times :)

The funniest thing happened during all that.  He upped a Niki, got a lucky pass and took off half of one wing on my F6F.  I kept fighting best I could, and he took off half of the other wing on another pass.

So there I am, still flying (good thing I was pretty fast at the time, with half of each wing and still dodging his passes.  This went on for several minutes, me rolling and turning with rudder and elevator only.  Of course the inevitable happened, and I got a quick trip back to HQ, but MAN that was funny....  My squadie filmed it, I hope he finds a place to host it, I would love to see that again.

What a newb...
