Rather than reply with 35 separate versions of “Wow, that’s nice, thank you very much”, I thought I would let this thread run its course before posting up. Looks like it has so…
These profiles are awesome, and I can’t wait to see the next one. I was as surprised as anyone to be chosen for this honor, but saw it as a chance to give something back to those who give to me everyday in AH. Heck, I wouldn’t last 30 seconds in the pit with any of the three gentlemen who were profiled previously, nor with half of the guys and gals replying…I know that, Momma didn’t raise no fools here. That’s not what the AoAH series is all about though. Sure like most people I suppose, someday I do want to be one of the really dangerous pilots out there, but I have years of experience and hard work ahead of me for that. Until such a day arrives, I can only keep practicing, learning, and having fun. I probably never will achieve the level of lethality that some folks have, just due to the self imposed limitations I set on my self, in respect to how I approach the game. That’s ok, if I can be the best I can be, while having fun my way, and making friends, than I am content.
The real ”Aces” here are JD and Yanks. The CM staff members, AvA crew, the trainers, skinners, map makers, sound guys,…anyone who gives freely to the game and community, anyone who takes a moment of their own time to help another improve their own gaming experience. Those are my hero’s in AH.
The employees at HTC must shake there heads, laugh at loud, cry in open disbelief, and roll on the floor in fits of hysterics at some of the stuff people post on these bbs,…BUT…they must be damn proud of this game, I know I would be. Any game that brings out the passion level in its players that AH does, is something to be proud of. Some people figure, they pay there dues so they are entitled to….the world. I don’t look it at that way, and I look at all those people mentioned above as benefits to being part of such a great game and community. The 30 dollars a month (my own and my sons account) that I send to HTC is a cheap price to pay for me, in return for the bonds of friendship that are formed through virtual combat here,…friendships that then go on to transcend the mere cyber, internet gaming context, into real life and are something of substance, solid, and can be taken with you. That’s priceless to me.
Thank each and every one of you who added something positive here. I smiled and laughed reading many of your replies and truly appreciate the kind words. I salute you all!
