That's not true, they do count.
Thus you have no advantage in bomb hit% when using drones vs someone using single lancs.
See EW scores for Egalehrt and me. We both did fly very similar sorties, Lanc runs vs enemy cities mostly. He was flying single lancs most of the time, I was flying exclusively formations. You'll see that his hit% is slightly higher than mine, 1700% vs 1500%. That's because he is "wasting" a bit less bombs by dropping one at a time.
In my opinion, bombing hit% is by far the least meaningful statistic in game. It doesn't reflect your ability to hit, but the choice of the right targets. Someone that can hit & destroy any hangar from any alt will gain much less hit% than someone dropping 2000lbs bombs into huge city clusters.
Alos the size of the bomb is not figured in, so lazily dropping a 4000lbs will get you a higher hit% than a precisely dropped 500lbs.
