Yes, but I wouldnt go so far as to say none of them, I dont think anybody said NONE of them.  but I would go so far to say that a large majority of them either dont know or dont care about the rest of RP's platform...

I'm spoken with (in person and online) many college age Ron Paul supporters in the last year or so. I'm more qualified than you to speak to the limits of their support.

You dont know how many RP supporters of any age I've spoken too... speaking to a few college RP supporters doesnt make you any more or less qualified to offer an opinion than me or Stang.

actually, the words "only", "sole" and "all" have been used a couple of times so far in this discussion.

true, I'm making an assumption that you haven't been to as many RP rallys and meetup groups as I have, or stood on a corner in the middle of bike week (laconia) passing out RP info like I have, or spent an evening at a sign making party, etc...  I've been active in the campaign and naturally have spoken with many people, both supporters and non-supporters, about Ron Paul.  Yes, I'm making an assumption, but I have a feeling it's a safe one.  (EDIT: Unless you work on a campus or something, of course, in which case that's not a safe assumption.  Have you spoken with a lot of college kids about Ron Paul?)

you are a RP supporter/campaign worker, that means you are not a unbiased source.

yeah... I don't know how it works eh?  let ron paul get honest about libertarianism and he will get crucified by the lefties that just think he wants to let em smoke pot.

Go ahead.. tell em that he wants to stop spending on welfare.  that he will make for smaller government.. abolish fema.. etc.

He would still have me of course but the empty headed school kids would just feel betrayed.   They want a government that takes care of them cradle to grave.

I'd think that's an issue that would score him points with the lefties, no?

he has...  his message hasn't changed over the last 20 years.  (one of the things I love about RP, btw...)  funny thing is, after every appearance he gets a spike in his campaign donations.  apparently some people aren't as scared by the prospect of freedom as you think they'd be.

all I'm saying is that, for a self-proclaimed libertarian you sure take every possible opportunity to spread FUD about why it won't/can't work.  Maybe you're as jaded as I was, prior to RP announcing his candidacy.  I moved up to NH to be a part of the Free State Project more or less because I was giving up on a political solution at the national level.  I definitely feel where you're coming from, but RP has given me hope.

Sometimes change hurts. It hurtHUGE when Reagan was president. I do not think the college age kids want to be coddled as much as you think Laz. The ones I talk to tend to be very concerned about their future.
(and they should be) This country needs an enema now! Our current government is bloated and self serving. Welfare needs to be changed now! Our economy is a disaster, our military is over extended supporting the current administration's ideal of defeating terrorism (which is not working). Our troops are dying for corporate gains (their I said it) crucify me ifyou must. But that is how I see it. Chertoff is the "son of the devil"(Russian translation) France likes us again wtf?? See my point? If you do let me know what is Laz I forgot. Anyways Vote Ron Paul At least it will be interesting. Besides it "sings" (Green Beret reference) old John Wayne movie for you young kids. John Wayne was an actor............ Nevermind. Anyways President Clinton twice mmmmmmmm I don't think so! President Giulliani?? To many vowels. Besides he will make his cabinet call him Don Giulliani. (mafia reference) President Obama Mr. " I will talk to Iran" Ummm yea can you say NO! United States of America (home of the brave land of the fleeced)

The difference being that those were third party candidates.  It's pretty much the opposite situation, IMHO...  If Ron Paul doesn't get the GOP nomination, then the GOP loses the libertarian/independent vote, allowing Hillary to beat whoever the GOP puts up against her.

I doubt Paul would accept that arrangement...   Thompson does seem to be the "lesser-evil" out of the GOP frontrunners, but I don't think RP would even go so far as to endorse him.

My point was more to the "at least it will be interesting"  ....
when the time comes for me to go to ballot box during the primary and I'm looking at a list of names to pick from I dont think I am going to vote for someone because "it will be interesting"  might as well not vote at all... I'm gonna vote for whoever I think is the strongest and best candiate for the job.. whoever that maybe...

Would RP get a chance at the next elections?  He's too old, I think.
So it would be his last chance to have influence from such a high position, which is better to cope with in tandem with someone like Thompson than sitting in his office pondering what could have been.

that sounds like a veiled threat, if RP is not nominated hillary wins.

what about this, if RP is nominated hillary wins?
