File Requirments
« on: October 24, 2007, 09:23:01 PM »
Greetings,

Yes, it's been a long time getting ready.  However, I am closing in on the finish line - Base Terrain is done, Fields are emplaced, approach marches are taking shape, strategic targets are in, supply roads are in (but will need adjusting), and clouds have yet to be even tinkered with.

When I am finally ready to submit a terrain for consideration, which files do you need to make the map work on you end?  If I want to send a terrain to a friend to get comments prior to submission, which files do I need to provide?

Regards,

You just need to "build" the terrain and send the *.res file and he will be able to fly on the terrain. If you want him to check the terrain out in TE, you have to send the whole folder from ahiiterr.

Likewise if/when you submit a terrain to HTC, yuo need to send the whole folder  from ahiiterr.... meaning folder called "your terrain" and the texsrc folder inside of it.

Any terrain submitted for consideration as a Main Arena terrain must include the source for the terrain.

If oyu want others to chime in comments, all they need is the *,res file created by building the terrain.  Optionally, you could include the *.fld and *.pln files which contain the field and plane allocation you set for the terrain.  If those are not there, then the game uses the defaults the terrain editor supplies in the *.res file.
