It is insensitive, no argument from me. Some of us are insensitive and make no serious apology.

What is it you find so not funny? The mereist hint of humor in regards to wife beating? Do you really think that brow beating all males into humorlessness on this topic will change the muslims? I suspect western women are one of the things Islam is most fearful of. Not so much the women as that men have given up their role as men, from their perspective.

Tigeress, I took AkIron's responce there as a rather Monty-Python like humour, and I'm pretty sure that's what it was supposed to be.
(Hell, with my dark humour, I could have topped that :D)

Anyway, while I thought it was funny, the fact remains that the whole deal is very very sad. And you may have this norm much further than the muslim states, - I was baffled when I got to know some norms in old E-Europe for instance.
I once worked in a factory (in Iceland) and there was this jealous Polish guy who had the habid of slapping his wife about if he thought that suited. He did the mistake of having a go while tending a party full of Icelanders. After 2 attempts, he was kicked out with a blue eye, and the wife partied on all night. Different cultures I guess.
I was also baffled at men's behaviure in the old countries of S-Europe. Got to know some Romanians, and was shocked about their attitude.

Think about this.. maybe we are wrong..

We should all become Muslims Extremists..

1)No more wife ack..
2)You can have as many wives as you want and don't have to listen to any of them..
3)If your kids make you mad, you can always trade them for a good donkey and a couple of sheep.
4) You pro gun guys should surely like their liberal stance on firearms. Who cares about CCW's when you can just carry an AK47 and a RPG.


So what's a few be-headings, hangings and car bombs. It's gotta be way more fun than being a Christian Extremist.

Well here in the USofA the you can only marry one women they have some law about polygamy. I think only the Mormons in Utah get away with it here.

Worse yet if you beat any of your wives you surely will go to jail, that and here in the US they don't listen to this one: "Woman, it has gone too far. I can't bear it anymore,". Maybe in the 50's but not anymore.

I'm also pretty sure we can't trade kids for sheep, goats, cows or donkeys, but I will look into that one. Maybe they allow it in Utah.

While we can own AK47's we surely can't have RPG's and hand gernades.
