Spent a couple hours online with 1.2-
Typhoon- won't be the arena queen, but is holy hell to armour. Too fast on the deck to chase down with anything but another Typhoon. Get it to turn, and it's curtains.

c202- Love it! Got into a turnfight with a Spit V and took it down. You do need a lot of time on target with the guns, but it will give you the time to do that (assuming the bad guy has no wingman).
M16 Halftrack- While it takes a while to get where you are going, it is hectic once the battle starts. You put 3-5 of these together and toss in a few tanks, and an airfield or city has a serious problem. 20mm seems to have no trouble knocking them out, but you have to be in its gun range to do it. Seems to be a 50/50 fight right now.
Panzer- Not fast, vulnerable to air attack, but boy does it punch! Read above for ideas for implementation.
Can you guys say "Scenario"?
