Happy Veteran's Day from Washington D.C. (pics inside)
« on: November 10, 2007, 04:33:15 PM »
Hello to all that served our country, and thank you!

My father in law came to town this weekend to celebrate Veteran's Day with his friends from Vietnam.  It's been an amazing trip so far... He's met up with his closest friends from the service, and yesterday he was one of the readers of the names at the Vietnam Veteran's memorial.  Simply amazing.

Today Dad participated in the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Parade, walking with his friends from the 101st Airborne.

I thought you all might like to see some pics from the day... hope you enjoy!
First, some images to set the scene...

The parade began with the D.C. Metro Police Motorcycle devision... in each of the sidecars are vets from each branch of service...

To be continued...

And now one of the most powerful things I saw today... the POW/MIA Bike...

And now some of the guys...

Agent Orange Awareness - an amazing float with AO survivors and planes whose props were actually turning.

And one last shot...

We didn't have the camera with us when Dad was reading names... all we've got is a small cell phone pic
:(

And finally... a pic of the old man hamming it up in the car on the way home today :aok

How could you not love the guy :aok

Hope you enjoyed :aok
