Here's Something Different - How Do I Remove a RAID setup

How Do I Remove a RAID setup?

I am running 2 SATA hard drives in RAID - 1 (duplicated mirrored backup )

I am wanting to remove this and seperate the 2 hard drives, so I can build out another PC with the extra HD.

what should I do 1st?  remove the RAID setup and files?
The RAID setup is the software version that comes with most ASUS motherboards

my version is Silicon Image SATARaid ver 1.13

in removing this, if I make sure I remove all the correct drives, will there be any ill effects  or foreseeable problems that will pop up?

my motherboard and both SATA HD's are hotswappable.....and this has worked without problems  since 2003 or 2004 ( Thanks to Whels  that is ).......

Another Question:
with the HD's being hotswappable, is it possible to just remove 1 HD, and maybe replace the 2nd HD in a few weeks to 1 month,  what problems would this cause? if any

as for running RAID 1, I do not notice even a slight hit in performance, although everything is being wrote to  2 different HD's each time.......

EDIT: System SPecs:

You should just be able to remove one without having to do anything.

You will get a message during start telling you one of the drives is offline, but just ignore it.

Later on just put a new drive back in a it will either automatically rebuild the RAID 1, or you will have to tell it to resynch.

Important - New drive has to be at LEAST as big as the original drive. Preferably same model, same size.
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
Asus M3N-HT mobo
2 x 2Gb Corsair 1066 DDR2 memory
