According to Swaborough & Bowers, in "United States Naval Aircraft since 1911" which is published by the Naval Institute Press, the SBD-5 with the Wright R-1820-60 is capable of carrying up to 1,600 lb under the fuselage and two 325 lb bombs under each wing. An important thing to remember is that bomb weights and bomb "named" weights are different, for example the Mk84 bomb was refered to as a 2000 pounder but could range from 1,972 lb to 2,083 lb depending on configuration.
