When i click on the used control panel i no longer show subscribed forums nor past posts.

Resubscribe to the forums you want notifications on. There were a high number of accounts which had bogus email addresses in them causing some server usage which was unneccessary.

The amount of time to go through and figure out which were real and which were not was prohibitve.

Complied with the above instructions, and I still don't receive email notifications of new messages, et al.
