skuzzy, i need help

ok, so i have been haveing this problem for awhile, no matter if a tape gameplay in AHII film viewer or fraps, it says i have the wrong codec, anyone know how this can be fixed?

Are you talking about playing a film?  AVI?  MPEG?  If so, it means your computer does not have the codec to decompress the content you are trying to watch.

You have to determine what codec your computer needs to be order to play whatever you are trying to play then obtain it.

well, i have windows movie maker, and after i make a movie, i go to play it in windows media, and says its the wrong Codec?Also, how would i figure out what kind of Codec im running?

I would presume somewhere in your application is a configuration setting which allows you to set the codec.

Codec's are the compressors/decompressors for the data which makes up the images.  Windows has a pretty good selection of them.  If you want compatibility across a wide range of computers,try the MPEG1 codec.

do a google search for the codex that is missing and install it.

or as Skuzzy said, you can change the  setting in the movie program you are using. Change the prefferances to save the movie in a different format, look for "MPEG1" as a good all around setting to save it as.
