A big thanks out to all that showed up for the evening.  We flew straight up fighter sweeps tonight instead of bomber sorties, due to the map settings not being conducive to bomber operations.

We had a big time with the intense fighting we encountered, as well as learned a few hard lessions about the 110G2's abilities.

Thursday Night is Turkey Day, so we are considering a Wednesday night fighter bash in place of the Thursday Squad Night.  Thanks again for a nice turn out.

Almost every year we have a good turn out after everyone is stuffed with turkey. Maybe instead of 7CST bump it to 9.

lutrel - we all had a blast too.  A Bf-110 in the hands of a competent pilot is like holding onto a 30 foot crocodile by the tail and trying not to get bit. :D

Great time as usual last night guys. Ahhh...the 110g2....need to read up on it and see what the allies did to beat it. You guys certainly know how to maximize it's fighting efficiency....and with those cannons, HO is by no means the solution.
See you guys Wednesday and probably Thursday....a little later than usual on Thursday.
Hope my spelling, punctuation and grammar was up to par for you Kong. I know how hard it is for you to read....I should be more sympathetic to those that are challanged :D

A 110 with alt & E is a dangerous thing. Another thing to be careful off is the "two circle" fight....especially when your attacking a lower 110 and he's pulling up into your attacks. The 110 is the king of the FQ shot by a wide margin...

Thanks for the advice. Twice last night I found out what I cant do to beat a 110g2....Now I need to find out what I can do. My only guess right now is to position myself for a deflection...and be accurate on my first burst or I am a dead man once he has a solution.
Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

Recognizing that the 110 with E controls the fight the following is usually somewhat helpful.

The 110 relies more on zoom then sustained climb when the fight is going upward. Anytime the 110 can zoom "unloaded" its winning the E battle...

The 110 does bleed E fairly fast when manuevering under G load. So the goal is to keep the fight fairly fast and the 110 "loaded"...low yoyo's to a climbing rolling scissors or similiar can bleed the 110 out if you survive the process.

Normally I'll extend as best I can then low yoyo back into the 110...if he goes nose up I go nose down and run like a scalded rabbit. If he drops the nose I'll convert into a spiral climb or vertical rolling scissors and take my chances. A good 110 driver will protect against the bogie taking the fight up and use his fire power to force you back down. relying on his weight to create the speed he needs to catch you...working that fine line where you can infact either get over him or scrape up enough E to extend is tough.

The better the 110 protects his high ground the better stick he is normally. At some point you'll either have to give him a shot he thinks is worth taking or catch him on the top of his zoom with enough E to avoid the reverse...

Once you get the high ground the key is not to get sucked into a nose down shot. Like the A-20 the 110 gathers E quicky and its nose mounted guns will carve you up very quickly. A very underrated adversary overall...

Thanks for the info snap. Copied and pasted the advice and printed it. Seems like even if I follow it perfectly and execute the maneuvers like an ace, I still have to hope that my opponent makes a mistake...but no doubt it will give me a better chance.
