still can't get voice radio to work. probly doing something wrong. is this the correct procedure/ tune to radio 5 then hit either t or f12 to transmit to whoever is in that room or range

on radio 5 I only have mission and squad options, is that right?

if my name does not show up in the range box (f12 or room (T) what does that mean.

range voice and radio 5 voice are two different, distinct voice channels.

Range voice is always enabled. Hold down F12 to talk to people in range. This works regardless of to what you have set your radio 5 box.

Hold down T to use the second radio channel - thats the one you can tune to different things. It is NOT a "room" voice channel. It's either  Squad, Mission, or any desired channel number (just type it into the box), or even to any person in game (even to yourself - type your name into that box and hear yourself talking. Great for checking your voice quality).

When inflight, your own name never shows up on "Range(F12) list"

When you experience that other people can't hear you, tune the voice radio to yourself to check your mike.

No it does not. If you look at that picture again, you will see it is labeled "Room", not "Range". He was in the tower when he took that picture.

also, you do not have to have the radio box open for VOX to work.

The best way to test your setup, is to open the radio box, and in the #5 channel, high light it (click and hold down mouse button and drag across all text in that field) and type in your in game name, then hit "enter".

If your sure "t" is the key that is assigned to "transmit", hit "t" and say  something then release "t". You should hear what you said from your speakers. If not, you have a problem.

i think i found the problem but don't know how to fix it. When i press f12 the      range f12  above the names does not always light up. I have to play around with the channels to get it to work but when i close the radio box and reopen same problem. It's a brand new wireless keyboard and all the other keys seek to work fine. any ideas?

Ehmm Im not sure if I understand you right, but you do not open the radio box in any way to use the vox radio. Just press F12 at any time during flight, don't open the box.

when I press / and the radio buffer comes on where it has range or room with the names of people in my area there is a icon marked f12 range or room.  when i press the f12 key sometimes it lights and sometimes does not. if my voice radio is working it lights up if it does not light up it is not working. I have to change channels to  room, country or all to get it too work. is this normal?

I am guessing that as long as I don't open the radio buffer it should work every time by just pressing f12?

sorry to be such a pain.

Yes. Do not open radio buffer to use vox. There is absolutely no need for it. You only open radio buffer to write text, or to enter a new radio channel number.

Flatiron,
appears to be an intermittent problem with your wireless keyboard? Try mapping the F12 key to a button on your joystick and see if that makes the mike key consistant. If you're flying with a mouse, try mapping the F12 key to one of your mouse buttons. The behavior your describing is not normal.

Regards,
Optiker
