Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Yorkfield 3.0GHz

Okay for starters is this chipset really worth the price you pay? I'm looking to upgrade since I'm a bit behind. Well really far behind. Here's just the basics with a question on the right memory and the right video card to put with it all.

1. Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Yorkfield 3.0GHz 12MB L2 Cache LGA 775 130W Processor.

2. ASUS MAXIMUS EXTREME LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard.

Okay with these two items in mind what memory can I run (price not an issue). And would it be more effecient to get two 8800 series cards or just one of the O.C. 8800 cards? Thanks in advance.

If you are jumping that far into it just get one of the 8800 cards but you honestly don't need to get one that is Oc'd by the maker. Last December I bought a Core2Duo chip with an eVGA board and an eVGA 8800GTS 640MB version. Best money spent on a new upgrade in a long time. They are still plugging along doing great after 11 months and I am considering buying another 8800GTS 640MB just to have in case I want SLI.
