Ohka maybe?
« on: December 01, 2007, 12:39:50 PM »
I do not know if this issue has been already debated, but the idea is going like this.

B-29s with nukes. Ok im just kidding.

Its the use of the self-propelled bomb Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka. Each mission should necessarily be done by two players. The one necessarily would fly the Betty and the other one the Ohka. Someone must be there to undertake the boring task of flying the bomber platform. The Okha will be Perked from 50 to 100.

The player will lose his perk points when not achieve its objective, that is destroying a target. As targets are only airports (hangars, acks), ports, GV fields and Fleet (ships) .

I do not know what you think about the idea but in reality to fly and find yourself the target within an Ohka was not an easy task, on the contrary was very hard to do it, because of her very bad flying characteristics and high speed. I do not know how is going to be in the game, but it should be equally difficult for those who may think that an AHII suicidal mission will be an easy task. And if you loose your target you loose your perk points. So whoever is going to choose Ohka he must think twice.

PS Oh, I almost forgot. No offline practice for possible Ohka users.

PS in the same context how you would consider the idea of Natter?

The Natter was never put into service.

And I don't see the reason to risk 50-100 perks in a Ohka (which probably will never see it's target because the Betty dies long before :t ) when I can just divebomb in Lancs with more than 40 times the payload.

Oh, and I think this game doesn't need more suicide runs at all...

Perk the Lancs then, to stop this kind of missions. I don’t care. The whole idea is not to promote another suicidal idea, but to give much more diversity in the means we use in the game play. That’s it. Ok Natter was never put into service if this is an excuse. But Ohka did. Why we have to exclude Ohka?. More means to play more fun. That's  the only reason.

Like the 163, you could have the Ohka only available at home bases (the red out-lined ones.)  That way anyone wanting to use this would have to fly farther and spend more time en route to target, provided their country was more dominate, i.e. controlled more bases, but could use it more readily if their country was losing.

...along with perking 1 or both pilots if HT decided to do that weapons load out perk system I've heard about.

It would not necessarily need 2 players. The Ohka could be just a heavily perked ordinance for Betty. When the bomber pilot decides to use the Ohka, he would leave the bomber and enter the Ohka.... no return flight... perks always lost regardless of where the Ohka lands.
That would be just a sure way to spend bomber perks ;)

Then again, playing an Ohka pilot in a game may not be even close to any political correctness in current world...

Well, yes that’s a different aspect that I did not think about.  Yes you could find a political incorrectness here, but on the other hand I think it concern a WWII like game play that “stands miles away” from what u imply. But then again could be am wrong.

It would be kind of fun as an anti-camping weapon, but as pointed out, the lazscasters are already fill the role of the Ohka.
