The original P-82, which was simply two P-51s mated together, was so weak structurally, that it had to be totally redesigned.  The operational F-82 shared very little commonality with the P-51.

And you got this info where about the original P-82?

Still not sure what you are after in regards the 51.

I'm just trying to find info the P-51H and if it could handle the stresses of a dogfight.

I think you need to step back and think about what you wrote...

Do you honestly believe that the USAAF would accept a front-line fighter aircraft that would NOT withstand the stresses of combat?

It was common for the AAF to stipulate G limits for fully loaded fighters (heavy ordnance or external fuel tanks).

Air Guard P-51H fighters stayed home during Korea. So did the hundreds of P-47s in Air Guard service. On the other hand, the F-82 saw considerable combat.
