What Every AH Head Needs To Know
« on: December 04, 2007, 12:07:39 AM »
There is a way to have a seperate operating system using Windows XP, or 2000 for running AHII.

I Run 2 installs of Windows 2000, 1 for every day use, and then 1 seperate one for Games only.

All you need is a secondary HD, about 10 to 20 GB and then you can install your OS in it and just load the drivers for what you absolutely need.
You can disable all other drivers and have windows not even look for them in the end.

Also this is cruicial because in the event that your comp crashes you can recover all of your data off of the C: Drive and then start over before formatting.

I have not installed any extra unnecessary hardware and have disabled them from the profile manger in the control panel, hardware manager, and am not even running an anti-virus program as I kill it every time that i play.

The result is phenominal.   I have nothing to kill when i login to play, and I have no more problems with warping or any of that mess for that matter.

All I have running is Windows and AHII, and also the game controller software.

My Frame rate is at 55 and I hav ethe following.

AMD 1.67 GHZ Processor, OCd to 250MHZ CPU Clock.
1GB DDR400 RAM
2x160GB HD
1x120GBHD
1x80GB Parted to 10GB Primary Partition, and 3GB Secondary Partition w/rest space as logical extended drive.
and a NVIDIA 5200 512MB AG 8x video card.

Nothing fancy, however the refresh rate and the damn graphics are better than before and I dont have any buggers messing with the memory nor the problems with speed or other programs running in the background and sucking up precious CPU.
Get VoiceBot and Use Speech for game commands

AutoHotkey and Software repo maps etc for AHIII
