HTC, i have two wishes which i hope would be easy to impliment.

#1: buddy list. i would love to be able to add people to the .sr roster.

71 squadron has two wings and it would be nice to see where squaddies in the other wing are. it'd also be great to see if good friends were online. i hope this is possible (PLEEASE).

#2:

an extension of terrain transitions. would it be possible to smooth the edges of the terrain tiles so that they fade into each other more. right now the terrain always looks very blocky and generic. it is of course, very blocky and generic i know, but i think more of a fade on the transitions to make the terrain look less like a chessboard would really enhance the terrain.

i'm talking particularly about the transition from grass to forest. you'll often see random thick squares of dark green in an otherwise endless see of grass, it looks kid of odd.

any way of making it less square, and a smoother transition between tiles?

i think it would really add something to the terrain.

Amen on #1, we in the exact same boat with squad mates in the 332nd FM.

Any improvements in this area would be hugely appreciated.

Hi B,

During the short time we had Aces high with great looking terrain tiles with different tile transitions , but too many people whined that it was too dark so ht changed it.Was recently, if you remember.

Also it can be done by making all the tiles in similar colors (or type), which some would argue for being boring.Example i made:

Yes, yes, and more yes's to #1. We all have great friends outside our squads that we like to fly with. Maybe add a new roster if we can't add people to squad roster. Maybe a "Buddy Roster" (.br).

Agreed on #1, not so much on #2. Certainly I would love it, but so many others here already got rid of it by complaints. So what is HTC supposed to do, play see-saw to make people happy? One month of dark tiles, next month bright ones with "blocky transitions".

That terrain looks outstanding. Any chance of adding lakes, rivers, maybe a coastline and getting it into the MA?

The terrain was changed due to serious bugs with how each tile was being displayed, no lighting, too much lighting, being unable to see any variation in the terrain until it broke over the horizon, and so forth.

No complaints were made about the blending of tiles, just all the other problems that the terrain had at the time.

If you think about it, the tiles may only have seemed to blend better because there were so many screwed up problems with the lighting and display, it could have been an illusion (something not really different, but you thought it was).

Welcome back Krusty!

Oboe, I am a terrain designer and have made a few custom objects. That is why I am telling you if croduh tried doing something similar it would not be accepted into the MA. Custom objects are a no no when you're attempting to submit into the MA.

i vote on #1, POTW has more than 1 wing too
