What's changed in the last 2 years?
« on: December 05, 2007, 02:03:43 PM »
S! Everyone,
It's been about 2 years sonce I last played and was wondering about any major changes that have occured. Looks like we have a few new 38's (yay!), spits and many others. Any new maps? I was only able to log on for a few sorties yesterday in an attempt to break the rust off of my joystick, which may take a while. I see there are still alot of familiar names rolling around which is good to see.

Is base taking still pretty much the same? Smash the town the drop a good? Any flight models changed much? Whats with the Early, Mid and Late war tours?

Looking forward to seeing you all in the skies again! S!

Early, mid, and late, are now divided by the planeset allowed in each. Late allows all, mid only up to a certain date, and early only the "early" ones...

Right around when the 109s came out some time (2.6 I believe?) there was a major revision to the airflow code as it pertains to wings and aircraft in general. Most aircraft were hit in some way (good or bad) and many fly totally different now. For some craft that this hit, it's much more realistic (no more floppy 109s! no more 250mph snap-stalls in 190s!) but has had different effects on others (p51s no longer are turning monsters, but f4us are uber beyond words)

Thanks for the reply Krusty, good to know. I used to fly F4's, the 38 and jugs along with occasional spits. I'm excited to try the new uber version of the f4! Chog for the win!

Though I'm so rusty I'm not sure I will even notice the differnt fly characteristics .

You will be happy to know you can pick up your expectations for Combat Tour right where you left them...  Should be out in two weeks!
