On a side note, my cousin Andy when he was a little kid, 5-6 years old, used to go around eating grasshoppers. Used to grosse everyone out doing that. He later joined the Marines and went Force Recon. That boy wasn't wired right from birth.

I don't drink (not even beer). :)   LOL about Andy ~ I've got 3 sons... one of them is for sure an "Andy"

Baptist aren't ya???:D  I grew up in that part of the country so it's an educated guess on my part. Nothing wrong with that though. I'm Irish Catholic so I have to drink but that's a whole other topic of conversation.:aok

If you truly believe Baptist's don't drink....well.....they do cover it up well :D

Hey TxMom, your stomach is filled with Hydrochloric Acid. I doubt you'll get maggots.

:aok
Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. And there are five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother, Colin. Or my younger brother, Ho-Chan-Chu. But I think it's Colin. - Tim Vine.

That sounds like my middle son who is 4.5 now. He goes out looking for crickets and other bugs to play with before he crunches on them. I think he does it just to upset his mom and grandmothers.

If you look closely, you will note that the stinger had already been cut off.

Scorpions are perfectly OK to eat, as long as you do not consume the poisonous stinger, and remove it first.

I do believe that they are rather crunchy, and don't really have a very appetizing taste.  However, since most people in Asia get very little protein to eat, those may be secondary considerations for them.
