Shift Button?
« on: December 11, 2007, 09:16:11 AM »
How about a shift button.. so you could double your joystick button assignments, without having to switch modes?

I can do that with my Saitek software, but the only button it will allow as "shift" is the secondary trigger...

If it were built into the game I could assign any button as shift.

That's what control modes are for. Just map a few options to control mode 3 or 4, then map the same buttons on all four control modes to switch between the four control modes. Then you can select a control mode in flight and have a different set of buttons to play with.

Like I said "without having to switch modes".

Yes the modes help, and I use the heck out of them, but it's still not enough.  Plus I might need to hit a button a single time from another mode, but need to stay in my current mode.

This means pressing a button to switch modes (actually in my case toggling my mode switch), then press the appropriate button, then switch back to the original mode.  Then there's the whole "accidentally leaving it in the wrong mode" occasion too.

A lot more time consuming than a simple "hold shift button, press button" process.

Thanks for pointing it out, completely missed that. And yes, I did read the whole post before posting.
