i used to have a simple ftp utility that was free but have used internet explorer for a long time until the latest version disabled use of ftp sites. ( microsoft)

so besides the fact that microsoft is out to turn computers into useless paperweights with crappy software...

does anyone have a link to a simple free ftp program I could use?

I use a firefox extension called FireFtp.Really simple and gets the job done, also is free.

If you use IE7, open the FTP site in IE, then click View and then Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer.

It's all copy and paste from there on out.

CuteFTP was very simple and free the last time I used it years ago.

SmartFTP here. Free but every time you launch it an annoying pop-up says the version you're using is outdated (which it's not).

I use Smart FTP as well, it's great. Also, maybe a little off topic, but for coding needs Edit Plus is a nifty program as well.

FireFTP through Firefox browser. Use it aggressively, very clean and simple.
