Fellow Aces High pilots,
The computer I'm building will have no shortage of CPU power (Intel Q6600 G0 quadcore chip overclocked to 3.2+Ghz. What concerns me is pushing pixels fast enough. A 2560x1600 display contains 4 times as many pixels as a 1280x800 display. Could a single 8800GTX cut the mustard at 60fps?

My 8800GTX will easily give me 60fps on a 1920 x 1200 display (which is 2.3Million pixels). Does anyone have experience with a 2560 x 1600 monitor (which is 4.1 millon pixels)? If not, we'll give a report here once the computer is up and running.

I've got a 37" 1080P LCD monitor. Right now its doing duty as a hiDef TV in the bedroom but when we finally move it'll be in my office. I actually got it for work since it lets me use a large "virtual desktop" instead of having everything buried. It wont however fit in my home office due to built ins. I've flown AH on it a few times and its nice but not overly amazing. I've got a 19in LCD I use for now. I might actually keep the 19 for AH and just use the 37 in for work.

I've got my eye on a 60+ in lcd for the family room and will port a line to there to run AH off it occasionally:)

Hiya Fugitive,
I have upgraded twice since the 50". :D

Here is the latest 60" Sony SXRD A3000.  Also upgraded Surround to an Onkyo 705 setup as 7.2 with 15" powered subs.  :D

Here is a little closer shot.  The guages are actually crystal clear but my photography is not. :)

BTW. No motion blur with 2.5ms response time and 120htz refresh at a native res of 1920x1080p.  Also, no burn-in issues with SXRD LCOS technology.

But can you use it in a bright room?  Seriously, if I had a large enough room, I would have a HT with a front projector but 60" does look pretty big  from 8 feet away. My little setup also includes Bluray, HD DVD and an HD DVR with 410 gigs of storage. It looks and sounds awesome.  I still love my Sony as my primary PC monitor from my new Lazy-Boy rocker-recliner.  Might as well be comfortable flying the unfriendly skies.:)

Probably so.  That setup was 5 years ago and was long since retired to the livingroom where my wife usually doesn't even use them with the old 50".

That was my first HTIB surround setup and I think I did pay just over $300 for it then.  That wouldn't even pay for one of the subwoofers on my current setup.

I met the fugitive today in the MA and what a weirdo he was there. Gave everybody a hard time for nothing... kinda like he was bipolar:mad: :D  ....but thats a different guy rt.

Anyway, I think the fugitive is playing you all for fools. I believe he's talking to himself here on the HTC BB trying to get some kind of conversation going with himself that you can be part of.

Strange is all:rolleyes:

I wonder how many times the fugitive and DAVE have been in the same thread? Probably as many as they have been in the same room I bet. I also wonder i he will take those pics dn to try and cover up his mistake.

No... They use to be in the Air Mafia together. Fugitive is Maddog so he has those pictures.. Including everyone elses setups from that squad.
