F4U Wishes

1. After the LOOOOOOOOONG flight by VMF-251 in FSO tonight I'd like to request once again that the F4U-1D be given its centerline drop tank or 2000lb bomb option. It'd be nice to have the option to carry a drop tank without sacrificing the second 1000lb bomb.

2. And while you're at it... Tiny Tims!

3. In DEFAULT head position, bubble-top F4U sights should look like this:

Instead of this

(I don't need to dig up the series of calculations and scale tests I ran, do I?)

4. An option, perhaps perked, to be able to launch the F4U-1A in a land-based configuration without arrester gear or wing folding mechanisms. All 1As from Goodyear were built like this in the factory. That 500lbs actually makes a SIGNIFICANT different to the F4U.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

And please for the love of all that is Holy, cut off the darn metal strip right above the pilot...  It hinders the view and its not like it stops me from getting a Pilot Wound... useless piece of junk...:cry   All I want for Christmas is a Corsair I can see out of...

The F4U-4 didn't. So yes, remove that hood from the F4U-4!
