Video Card question

Video Card: BFG Geforce 6800GS OC AGP
normally clocked at 375mhz GPU/1050mhz memory.

I have done a software mod to the card that enables some extra pipelines and vertex shaders.  Pretty sure this doesn't really stress the card out.  Just doing what it should doing if it was a 6800Ultra/Xtreme.  Long story about the potential capabilities of that card and I'll point anyone who wants to know in the right direction. (works with AGP version only)  But anyway, I also run that card at 400/1100 while gaming.  I'm fairly confident there is no heat issue.  However, just to add a bit more cooling (if possible) I run the fan at 100% all the time with the idea that the constant circulation of cooler air(relatively) will assist in keeping the card cooler to begin with and not just let the fan spool up a few more RPMs when it thinks it needs to.

So, I am now calculating the odds of fan's possibilities to fail.  I would assume that (from what I've read) BFG uses pretty decent components. (stock fan/heatsink included)  You guys think I'm going to wear out this fan if I run it full blast all the time?  Mind you it's mainly just while I game.  I usually manage to turn everything back down (GPU/Memory Clock and Fan speed) after each session.  I'd say an average session (approx) is 2 to 4 hours.  It has been mildly frustrating in my attempts to find what little information I can on this subject via internet tech forums or technicians.

Regards

You'll be fine.. they mostly ramp down the fan speed to make it quieter, not to extend fan life.

Actually, from my experience with electrical motors, they seem to wear faster from constantly changing speeds, not from running a consistently high speed.

Yes, I figured it would be worse for the fan to change speeds constantly as opposed to running at one constant speed.  Noise really isn't an issue for me since I'm wearing headphones most of the time.  I got some the same answers from some of the techs over at Extremeoverclocking.com that I'm confident with and they same the same as you.  Thankyou.
