I'f they are going to "redo" it or replace it with another 20th J, I'd suggest a pre-March '44 one since we have two bare-metal ones and a D-Day one. pre-march it would be plain OD/Gray with no Droop Snoot decoy markings or yellow noses. Would still be 20th, but aside from the code it would work for
any ETO 'Chin Lightning' before they were given Group colors.
I would suggest Either
Jeanne (which has sharks teeth),
Black Barney or
My Dad/'Til we Meet Again. All are distict and signifigant aircraft, and the latter two are generic enough (aside from the noseart) to represent any of the 8th AAF P-38 Groups of the period.



BTW, thats James Morris, the pilot of
My Dad and the top P-38 ace of the ETO with
Black Barney. It was actually Lt. Col. Barton Russel's plane.
