109 tips anyone? I've recently come back to AH for the long haul and have decided to fly the 109. Any tips? I've flown the 109k alot as well as the G6 abit as well.

The FM's have changed enough from when I last played that I'm abit leary of any older posts w/advice.
Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Skip the G-6. Fly the G2. It has more ammo, flies faster, climbs better, turns tighter.

The G14 and K4 are fairly close performance-wise up til about 16k or so. After that the G14 drops and the K4keeps going. I'd suggest the G14 only because it has more weapons options than the K-4. If you can fly one, you can fly either, so go back and forth as you see fit.

The G6 gains a lot of weight and loses a lot of performance. Historically it had its uses, but given the choice we have, I say avoid it entirely.

For the contrary opinion:  The G6 does offer slightly, but noticeably, better armament than the G2.  It's a worthy trade-off for the slightly worse aerobatic performance.

I've always thought that the ultimate goal of 109 flying was to fly the G6 well.

I've been flying the 109's for a bit now and the only tips I can give you is: Just fly it and you'll soon find the weaknesses and strengths. I fly the G-6 and G-2 alot and they don't really feel much different.
