Thought they were all scrapped?

NASA's is still floating around the lot somewhere at Edwards, haven't got a clue if it's being kept up to maintenance or is in any flying condition though.

Thought they were all scrapped?

That was the point of the joke.

Last I read, none of Iran's F-14s are operational due to lack of spare parts.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Also since the mission of Top Gun has changed from purely a Dog Fighting School to more of a Naval Strike Air Warfare Center/NSAWC it is going to be hard to write a story on that as well.
You mean they actually gonna write a story for the second movie?! most FPS games have a deeper story that the first.
Face it, Top gun was a s*** movie that had planes in it. They can make an episode of desperate housewives with F-14s and it will be just as good.

While waiting for Top Gun 2, check out this one:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421974/

The story is a bit so so, just like in the original Top Gun, but the air footage is second to none.
Youtube is infested with clips like this taken from the movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEe3xfWfkG8

I really recommend this one just for the air scenes  :aok

I thought Sky Fighters was better than Top Gun, at least the flying sequences were.
