i have a difficult enough time hitting my target clear vision, but even I think it is a good idea to have smoke in cockpit at least if you aare burning. The other day I was in a fight and was lit up and didn't even know it until a squaddy called and told me so.Of course I was so mad at the indiviidual that HOed me to cause the fire that I continued to chase him down once I was on six anyway. But I do think this would be a great addition. More of a challenge!!!!!

Like I need more.

Some incentive to bail out of your burning plane rather than fly around for a few minutes as a Roman candle makes sense. As of now when a plane gets lit on fire the pilot either doesn't notice or keeps fighting anyways.

Well in real life it's pretty unlikely a a flaming Zeek pilot would keep chasing the con whom just lit his plane on fire. I'd be willing to bet he would be more interested in bailing out.

I will admit I do get irritated at getting killed by a guy that in real life would have bailed out of his plane. While I've never had the joy of being in a real plane that's on fire. I'd imagine it's like a bit hot and likely not a very fun place to be, much less be able to chase another con around for 3 mins.

Much the same could be said about a plane with a smokey engine and oil leaking everywhere. I'd be willing to bet it would likely be fairly hard to see where you were going good enough to go chase down another con. Assuming you are in a single engine airplane.

In RL the flaming Zeke would find the nearest target of opportunty and attemt to kamikaze his plane into it.

An even bigger realism issue with me is that we can bail out no matter what the plane is doing or how fast it is going. I see this as being very hard to fix however.

I'd prefer a P39 before they spend time on this stuff :)

I actually agree with the poster on this. It would be a good idea to have some smoke or something following an engine hit. Either that or make the oil on the screen spawn in different patterns or something, cos in some planes its easy to see through engine oil on windscreen whilst in others its not.

I also find it odd that a flaming plane can continue to fight.
In RL, once the flames reach the point of exiting the airframe the airflow is usually disturbed enough to make controlled flight close to impossible.
Smoke in the cockpit would be a good clue to the pilot something was amiss, and it would be a nice touch if an aircraft begins to stall out once the fire takes hold.

We could have already had the P-39, but the majority in the game thought we needed yet another American bomber, as if we didn't have enough of them already.

Well the B25H has become a major player in the game IMO. Most likely a much bigger player than the P-39 would have been. Used to be there was very little defense against a large GV ground assault once the ords had been taken down at an air base.

IL2's and the various GV killing planes just wern't up to par against a large ground assault if the defending  team had no ords. Now you can push back a large ground assault with the B25H's.

Ya, the pilot would yell "ouch ,it burns!"  or start singing "chestnuts roasting over an open fire..." and jump around the cockpit.  This would distract him.

I've been playing for about 10 months now and even managed a couple of posts.  I really enjoy the forum.  The forum is a great place to hear about ideas, experiences and tips.

For the most part, posters and repliers add real value.  However, once in a while, you see a post like the above.

As far as I see it, Drfritz was merely providing what I and obviously others think is a valid suggestion.  Then comes along a person like the above.  His comments add absolutely no value (pro or con) to the thread yet he manages to insult the original poster at the end of his childish rant.

I'm just glad posters like the offender are in the minority.  Unfortunately, they always seem to be the loudest.

:aok - Unless someone is asking for a B-29 and why we don't have a P-82 for the one millionth time, jumping on the school bandwagon isn't always called for.  Btw, the thread should have been moved to the Wishlist.
