Yep that guy, Potts can sing wonderfully. It's been on before but is worth the visit. That piece of music was well done.

That is quite good.  Part of me wants to see what he'd be like after vigorous voice training, but another part realizes that his voice would lose some individuality in doing so.

Just seeing the reaction of the crowd was AMAZING, especially as a significant number are of the hip-hop/rap/pop generation that think classical music is something outdated and to ridicule.

I read your post about the STUN and got hopeful someone was getting tased for bad singing. They really need to add a call in voting option on American Idol. Tase or no tase. ;)

you're very welcome!  I'm going to pick up a couple copies too, good gift material.  The album is out, by the way.  Just downloaded it 'cause I'm an impatient bastige (before I get the 3rd degree, I'm still gonna buy it...)  There's a couple interesting song choices that sound damn good done opera style...

'Bout the original link I posted, I loved the way the audience and judges (especially that hottie in the middle, wowsa!) reacted while he sang.  When he said "I'm here to sing opera" they were like "oh boy, this guy's gonna suck..."

No kidding, addict. The judges looked bored and amused before he started singing. But after...?

I loved the shot of the female judge when you can VISIBLY see her breathing deepen in reaction. Total emotional breast-heaving, lol! :D Even the two men looked like they were on the verge of tears. I feel sorry for everyone he was competing against. ;) I'm glad he won. Score one for REAL music!

This is why I want to see someone put a REALLY good jazz big band on American Idol. Guarantee if you get a group with serious chops in there, they would blow these pop twits away.
