Eagl & LePaul, you can make the same argument for those that have trailer queens that never get driven.  And I'm not talking about some rare Shelby GT500 or Camaro ZL1.  There's a car meet every Saturday night in Kemah that draws an average of about 50 cars.  Of those I'd say about 20% are trailered in, dusted off, and displayed like they were at some kind of sponsored car show.  It's a CAR, frikkin' DRIVE IT.

AMEN!  I've SOLOed nearly every car I've owned.  Ford Festiva, Taurus, Audi 4000, a borrowed SVT Contour (LOVED that car for SOLO).  Am hoping to get the 780 into SOLO shape when i get back from tech school next December, just need a good 302 to start my build up.

I love track time and I miss the Quattro Cub track days.

Plus the people who drive those trucks still drive them like they are in a sports car.  They charge up to red lights and slam on the brakes to stop, race around parking lots, weave in and out of traffic, etc.  Most have no concept of what momentum means, and I laugh out loud every time I see one upside down on the side of the road because I know that almost all of those were the result of flat-out driver stupidity, trying to drive an F150 or escalade or whatever as if it was a porsche.  Retards.

My only consolation watching these truck owners is that they're pouring so much money into their gas tanks every couple of days, they don't have enough money to participate in other activities that I enjoy.  Yea I'll probably end up paying their welfare... er... social security when they're old and suddenly discover they don't have any money saved up, but their financial hardship is totally self induced and it makes me 100% immune to the liberal democrats' attempts to make me feel guilty for having a few bucks in the bank.  I drive a 10 year old car...  Don't give me any crap about how fortunate I am or compare me to anyone in less well-off conditions who has a new car.

There are ways to live that don't require a new gas guzzling truck every 3-4 years...

Ease up a bit there eagl. My R/T is my only vehicle. While it may not be a porsche it's no yugo either. Hotchkis suspension does wonders. Lets see that Fbody pick up a dishwasher from the local  Lowes.

I've got a huge gas guzzler ~ excursion.  I love it so much. If they made something bigger, I'd buy it.  We roadtrip once a month with 3 sons & 2 dogs.  For them, an excursion ain't even big enough.

Don't think eagl was targeting truck drivers like you there Bronk.  And, no, I can't lug home a dishwasher in my Z but that's not what it was built for, apples and oranges ya know?

TxMom I hope you drive it better than 95% women in their huge SUV's do here in Houston.  For some reason they think that since they are in a 5000 lbs. vehicle they have the right of way no matter what the situation and for some reason it calls for them to be on their cellphone the majority of the time.  But, in the end, it pays off when I'm in my car walking into a store and I see them mom's trying to park their jumbo vehicle-RV's in the small parking spots at the local mall, lawlz.

I'm not a great driver. I'm the annoying slow, sunday driver... and I don't bully my way around traffic. ;)

I don't talk on the cell phone when I drive (it's actually forbidden on our local military installation)

I don't shop at malls :) Hate the crowds ~ including the crowded parking lot.

Santa is disgusted that someone would ask for a Chevy, Santa only deals in Fords.  :D

I used to have a Holden Torana  Hatchback that I could put into third, get rolling and firewall the throttle, it would light up for half a block
Damn thing only got 9mpg around town but I did love that car.
I also had a genuine A9X hatchback, for about 3 months, then a B double missed a turn and ran OVER it:eek: :cry
