I have been having trouble with my bullets flying right through planes.  I know I should be hitting the guy; I've played long enough to make the distinction between, for example, bullets falling behind someone when turning with them and looking like a hit and bullets flying right through someone.  Anyway, assuming I should be hitting them, is there a video setting (or several) that I need to adjust to fix this problem?  I have had periods of time when .50 cals are very effective but right now I'm getting a ping or two when I unload on them, the rest just fly on through at a range that matches my convergence.  If there are any suggestions, I would appreciate them.

get "pingplotter". and ping the servers at HTC. You could have a packet loss problem. The other thing is vsync. it should be on. You can check this setting on your desk tops "display properties"

As far as vsync, I have an ATI Radeon vid card, so when I go to my desktop display properties, in the settings tab, in the advanced section, I get the ATI catalyst control center, which has nothing about vsync that I can find.  Any suggestions?

3D, wait for vertical synch, always on.
Least thats how I did it.

Thanks guys, mine was set to always off.  Hopefully that will help.  

Could you guys help with some of the other settings in there?  If it is too much trouble don't worry about it.  I really don't know much about all of this stuff and have just been using the defaults that the card came with.  I apologize ahead of time for my ignorance....

I have the following:

SmoothVision HD: Anisotropic Filtering - Let the application decide

CATALYST A.I. - Set to "Advanced"

Mipmap Detail Level - Set to "Performance"

Wait for vertical refresh - Now it is set to "always on"  :D
 
I have no SMARTSHADER Effects chosen.

Adaptive Anti-Aliasing - I had it enabled, but I am going to disable it because I think I heard that it needs to be off somewhere.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.  

In my Direct3D Settings I have the following:

Support DXT texture formats - checked

Alternate pixel senter - unchecked

OpenGL Settings:

Triple Buffering - Unchecked
Force 24-bit Z-buffer depth - Unchecked

Application pref. when I tried some AA- I got the weird little line next to mouose icon, so i turned mine to app preference.ff.

Fuzeman, thank you very much for the help.  It looks like we have a different ATI vid card or a different version of of the Catalyst software, but those adjustments should be helpful anyway.

I have pretty much the same settings as fuseman. AA smooths out the edges, and will give you a ghost line along side of the arrow cursor  :D  The higher you bump this up the smoother the edges of everything look. The problem is the more you bump it up the more horsepower you need.

Correct, I do not use a catalyst driver.
