Not Bad For 3 Days (cough)Work

The Dallas Cowboys just cut fullback Zack Crockett, who they picked up off waivers last week when Roy Williams was suspended. Williams is back so Crockett is gone.

Crockett arrived at Valley Ranch on Thursday. He participated in Thursday's practice, Friday's walk-through and went on the trip to Carolina but was inactive for the game.

For all that hard work, Crockett pocketed $48,235, which is one-seventeenth of his $820,000 salary.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I'd skip all that, I can save them a lot of money,  I'll just sit on the sideline for $10,000, I wont even charge extra to wear the equipment and uniform..

SWEET Payday Batman!

The sentiment that Airscrew has here is exactly I gave those guys when I was coming out of college and trying to play pro ball. I told the guys from the Chiefs and Dolphins that I would play free if they would let me.

I would market myself as a built in "Injury Time-out" ... good for those situations  like.. 3rd down and long, 45 seconds left in the game, no time outs, the team is down 1 point, just need to close enough for a field goal... give me the ball coach

Dats nuthin

Because of several quirks in the NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement Koy Detmer will receive more than $90,000 for practicing three days with the Vikings back in November

"Even though Detmer was not with the team on gameday, the CBA requires the Vikings to pay him a game check because he was on the roster for practice. Detmer is a 10-year veteran, qualifying him for a minimum base salary of $720,000 over a full season. His "game check," then, equaled $42,352.94.

In addition, the CBA also calls for termination pay based on seniority and experience level. In Detmer's case, the formula dictated that he receive another $48,000, bringing his total compensation above $90,000."
