Fester,

I thought I had the puffy all to myself!  Oh well, I guess that I can share.  On a serious note, the current puffy ack setup has to be heat, radar, laser, and gps guided the way it can swat my plane right outta the sky.

Ya it kills once in a while.  I say leave it alone.  If it's killing you, it's killing the enemy as well.  It does its job aside from the shooting through mountains bug.

Puffy ack is a necessary addition to the game but it needs to be a little less deadly to small aircraft at long ranges.

I have never been killed or damaged by puffy ack when I am in visual range of the CV it is coming from...... only when OUTSIDE visual range. That does not seem logical at all.

i don't think puffy ack has ever killed me in a bomber, but man o man do i have a puffy ack magnet stuck to my plane if I'm in a fighter, jeez its ridiculous sometimes

One time I was flying a temp on the deck to stop a horde at a field off a cv.  I killed one guy, pulled up doing almost 500 mph, and when I got to 3,001 ft, boom.

I love it too.

ive lost a 234 drone to the puff one time..

cant think of any other instance where ive had a bomber hit by it..

but I can think of several where I had my yak vaporized while cherry... *cough* flying over furball a looking for a target.

I must be flying a different game.  I've been flying what I thought was AH since it started and I've never seen AI puffy ack hit anything whatsoever (except my own puffy ack killed me once when I was trying to defend the CV from an attacker).  I have been on CVs hundreds of times where slow level bombers were fired at by the AI puffy ack, but I cannot recall a single time they ever hit them.  Manned puffy ack yes, unmanned never.  Unless a CV is manned, it has a 0% probability of surviving incoming bombers and the bombers, if above normal ack range, have nearly a 100% chance of exiting untouched.

So yes, go ahead and remove puffy ack- it does nothing whatsoever (except confuse the manned gunners regarding their aim).

I do agree that firing through mountains is not right, but that would be a complicated fix as the host apparently doesn't actually trace the puffy ack flight path so it can't know it's firing through mountains.

some of the best pilots in the war died from random puffy ack, quite a few of them right before the end of WW1 and again in WW2.

Haven't died to AI puffy in as long as I can remember.
