Benazir Bhutto killed in attack?!

I don't think he had anything to do with it. He would be VERY stupid if he did.

I think it was just a well planned assasination. Its really difficult to stop an assasination by a suicide killer.

Use Google and make a crosscheck between the time of her presidenty and the Taliban in Afghanistan.
You will find more than enough links, telling about the support of Pakistan and the Pakistan government for the Taliban and Al Kaida terrorists.

In 1996 you own news agency CNN reported  that "The Taliban are widely alleged to be the creation of Pakistan’s military intelligence [the ISI], which, according to experts, explains the Taliban’s swift military successes.” [CNN, 10/5/1996]

An analysis of the german university of Kassel came to the conclusion that Benazir Bhutto was "the mother of the Taliban" http://www.uni-kassel.de/fb5/frieden/regionen/Pakistan/bhutto.html

Benazir Bhutto was prime minister of Pakistan between 1988 and 1990. She was re-elected in 1993 but lost her position 3 years later because of corruption-scandals.

During her rule she supported the Taliban in Afghanistan who - thanks of the help of Bhutto and Pakistan - came to power in Kabul.

Bhutto and Pakistan supported the Taliban with money and with military equipment. For that she got the nickname "Mother of the Taliban".

That she was maybe killed by the Frankenstein-monster she created herself is a kind of tragic irony of history.

In a country like Pakistan, where a centralized government is hard pressed to maintain order to begin with, the ONLY surprise is that more of the prominent leaders have NOT been killed.

An assassination in such an environment need not be all that well planned. All that is necessary is to have one to three determined individuals willing to die in order to kill the target. It isn't killing the target that is difficult, it is getting away. If the killer is not at all concerned with getting away, then the ONLY concern is getting close enough, with enough of a weapon.

Interesting to find out recently that some of the money that we have been giving to Pakistan to fight terrorism was instead spent by them on buying weapons to potentially fight India with.

India, no doubt, did not care for this recent turn of events.

Provided Musharef stays in power, I don't see how it would.

In as much as the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand was a (and possibly THE) flashpoint for the start of World War I, I'm not at all convinced that this assassination will be the same. It is possible, even likely, that it will create large scale unrest and possibly war in the region. But I do not think it will start a global conflict.

How far stretching was World War 1 compared to World War 2?

There were a lot of alliances kicked in by pre-existing treaties that caused the domino affect of WWI.  I don't see that happening here.  But you never know.

WW2 was just part 2 of WW1, so it's one big global conflict.
