Looking for a "pilot handbook" type of thing...
« on: December 31, 2007, 10:33:28 AM »
Last night I was doing various searched on the boards and came across a thread which had a link to an e-book on pilot maneuvers or something of the sort. (The bound version of it could also be purchased on Amazon. I also believe it was written by a flight simulator guy) I downloaded it on my PC, but now I'm at work on my laptop and really wish I had it with me to read. Can anyone point me towards this link and/or point me towards any other on-line information regarding maneuvers, general combat, etc (I'm still pretty much a newb).

Thanks!

It hasn't worked for your spelling.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

Hehehe, I've been playing AH now for a few months (with a couple month break in-between). I've been playing flight games off and on over the past 10 years, but AH is my first "sim" style. I fly R/C planes and have taken basic flight training for kicks. I've got this game down fundamentally speaking, but my general combat pilot skills need work. Just looking for good information on BCM and ACM. The stuff I can't really figure out on my own. I seem to get waxed from behind more often than I should. I use my basic flight knowledge for evasion, but that isn't good enough against experienced combat pilots.

After awhile you'll start to study aircraft performance. What each aircraft can and can't do well.

Suddenly, you'll realize that sometimes just a simple maneuver that your plane can do that the other guys plane can't do as well can buy you time or even turn the tables.

You'll start to catagorize which planes can turn tighter, climb faster, dive faster, roll faster, stall slower, etc.

Then when you get in a "situation" you'll be able to use that info to best plan your attack or defense.

splitatom, download and read the book.It is full of really good info.

Grade 9 and you can't express yourself in the written form of your native language?

You should sue your english teacher and your parents. They haven't done a very good job.;)

I'm in eighth grade.
By your spelling and grammar, I honestly thought you were 9, not in ninth grade.
