There's a Veyron video goin around... he hits .. 230 or 240 MPH... really amazing stuff.

The driver is a brave soul, more brave than I.  I've been a tad over 200....once. Anything over 140-150 and I get nervous, to be honest.

I blew a rad hose at 130 and sprayed the windshield w/ fluid and some came into the cockpit(windows down and top off)... a little in my eyes.  For a sec or two I was having trouble seeing.. narrow two lane road at night. I think a little drop of pee came out.

Anyway, the guy in the veyron is narrating the entire time and while he does get a bit excited, he stays pretty collected.

Guess what car is this :)
(clue... scheduled to release in mid 2008 in north america)

This car weighs 4,000 lbs and similarly priced as the Corvette Z06.
But how in the world does this car outperform Porsche turbo, Z06, Viper, Audi R8, and other cars 4x the price in all aspects except pure top speed without putting the driver in mortal danger when pushed to the limit?  ;)

The Veyron got beat for highest speed, and it wasn't too hard.  It's got all that luxury ballast.  It's also been beat in engine output.

Thats pretty fast for a guy nicknamed "Captain Slow" by his co-hosts for his practical and meticulous driving habits.  I bet Jeremy Clarkson was a bit jealous he didn't get the segment.

Top Gear has to be the best car show EVER put on television.

The "SSC Ultimate Aero TT," though it was by a slim margin over the Bugatti.  Supposedly it is capable of 270+ but they have yet to even come close to that.

When I go to hell they will probly make me drive a minivan.

Most kids in ricers who pull up next to my big block el camino either give me the thumbs up or pretend they don't see (or hear) me.

The guys who always want to race are the turbo whatevers on the freeway.

Ditto. I love to watch them try their hardest to avoid eye contact.  :)

Although I only have a mouse.  :)

You know, that's funny, Lazs, since just recently I had to undergo shopping for another car.

My Wife was talking all about an SUV or a Minivan. Guess what we drove home?

a 2007 Dodge R/T Charger (Yes, it's gotta Hemi.)

And she likes it more than the SUV we test-drove.

You know, no matter how crappy a day I've had, and I've had quite a few in the last 8 months, when I get in the Z, turn the key and hear that LS1 fire up it cures all of my worries.

My wife wants an SSR.  Badly.  I can't imagine what it's going to be like when we go out for groceries or out to eat.  "Shall we take the SSR or the Z?"  Don't matter, it's win/win all the way as far as I can tell.

Those Chargers seem like fine cars but their drivers almost always want to race.  I dunno why they feel the need to get smoked(if I'm in the mood)

I have a lincoln that is a really nice car sat radio and all that... it sits most of the time..  I use the elky for a daily driver..  it is drafty and loud and bounces you around but it always lifts my mood.

How much is that worth?
