I had a '95 Probe GT....I picked Ford for the discount I got from the Z-plan(z plan was for retirees of which my father was).
No offense, maybe mine was just a lemon, but it was by far the worst car/money pit I ever owned....
While it looked nice, was peppy, handled decent, the transmission needed a complete rebuild at 39,000 miles (how lucky for Ford this happened at 39,000).
Before that, there was a vibration from the front right that none of the moronic Ford service techs could figure out..
I will say that the 2.5 liter V6 they put in the Probe GT was a fantastic powerplant.. From the factory, the car had 164 horses which wasn't too bad
for a car of this size especially for how the transmission was geared. I had a chip installed the next summer that boosted performance incredibly and allowing me to pull flat 14 second quarter miles.. Of course I had a K&N airfilter and splitfire plugs which really didn't add much of anything like the auto-parts store said they would...I was gullible at the time..
