Washington State had a record December for snowfall in the mountains. This is good news if you're a skiier/snowboarder and want to avoid drought conditions in the following summer. :aok

well..  don't know about "braintrust" but.. I have made several predictions over the last couple years.

That this natural warming trend would end and we would enter a natural cooling trend.

that suns activity has slowed so it will be soon.

that this winter there will be no more talk of "man made global warming"

That it would shift to "man made global climate change"

That only bad weather would be blamed and good weather is a glitch.

how am I doing so far?

Well, Curval, you could take this opportunity to cheap shot Laz for the umpteenth time or you could read the links Eagl posted and give us your considered opinion on that.

Oh... wait... I see you already decided on a course of action here.

BTW, I DO need 10 mill-yun.... I've decided I really should have about 5000 acres of good South Dakota farm land full of pheasants and enough left over money to truly enjoy it.  :)  Wanna chip in?

I'm surprised lazs would take a Russian communist's opinion on anything...unless it backed up his opinion of course.  Oh wait...that is EXACTLY what is happening here:

"I have made several predictions over the last couple years..."

He isn't commenting on the articles from what I can see...HE is the expert and the articles are backing up what HE has said.

LOL

As to South Dakota, that sounds nice.

curval.. the first link had nothing to do with russia.

http://www.spaceandscience.net/id16.html

Hey.. you coulda made some predictions yourself over the years instead of just sitting on the fence.

I still say...  this really nice warming trend is going to slow and end.. it will get cooler soon.. let's just hope it doesn't get too cool.

Maybe we can burn the rain forests to stop it tho?

Did you work hard on that response, or did someone help you?

I do see you were at least honest enough not to try to deny it.

Well, the question really isn't whether or not Laz is commenting on the articles, is it? The question is what is your purpose here in the thread.

I jumped in to poke fun at all the money that gets tossed around on government studies.

Why are you here?

Actually, Curval, I didn't see Laz comment on Eagl's links at all. I saw him restate various predictions he has made on weather/global warming and ask how he's doing so far.

(Note: the issue of manmade vs other cause global warming has not been raised in this thread, just global warming in general. I think that's an important distinction as I don't think anyone on the BBS has disputed that temperatures have risen. The debate has been over the cause of the rise. Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Funny Toad...you have commented alot in the past about how you think I am smarter than what I show here because I get involved in *debates* with lazs on futile topics such as GW.
[/b]

I think that is an incorrect statement. I think you're smarter than what you show here because you usually don't state your own strongly held views here and then defend them. I think you could; I think you are plenty smart. What I see mostly though is the old drive-by style posts that really have little content.

Much like the first one you made in this thread.

The reason I don't see a need to criticize Laz as a protagonist is that he almost always states his position and then defends it in those threads. He's not a continual drive-by sniper.

Can he be offensive? Yes, absolutely. No, I don't publicly call him on it. This is a style not content issue.

I would prefer a more civil style from a lot of folks on this board. Rather than be a scold, I do the best I can to be civil myself and hope that others will do so as well.

Well it was good for deer hunting here this past week. My uncle and a few family friends were able to take at least one per person each day this past week. Looks like next weekend when I get to go again will be nothing but cool and rainy.
