All

Was a great run tonight in AVA. Great to see what HTC has done with it. It’s about time IMHO.

I flew with the Bomb Group (as usual). Got a late start and formed up with the main group about ¾ of the way to the target. Tonights target was the Radar Factory at Marburg.

484th BG Heavy was the main strike force under command of blkmgc. IIRC the 357th FG flew Escort under command of Trukk of 78th Composite Group. Trukk was the overall strike command. (Sorry guys I keep confusing the FG’s in here, no disrespect intended.. just getting dim witted in my old age)

The Bomb Group rallied with the Escort groups about ½ way to the target. Strike altitude was 22k to 24k ft. Encountered enemy fighters from JG54 and JG11 near the target. BDA was 53% destruction of the Primary Target. Strike losses were approximately 5 B17’s and no Escorts. I lost all three of my AC after the bomb run but claimed 2 kills confirmed. The first was a FW-190, not sure about the second but it was either another FW or perhaps a 109.

to the Pilots of JG54 and JG11 who intercepted the strike and to the Pilots of the Escorts and other Bombers. It was a very good run for all I believe. It was very fun and exciting that you could not see enemy aircraft until they were actually visible. No enemy dar bars. This made ID very realistic and added a whole new level to the experience in this game. I am looking forward to many more session like this one. Hope to see more of you in here for these. If you  have any interest at all in flying realistic missions this is the place. Wether your interest is flying Allied or Axis aircraft this is the place.

Later,
KayBay
