The number of threads & posting that explain this in detail (and also explaining why a slower/faster connection doesn't help you) are legion...

I was not bashing anyone for posting this topic, just trying to say that it has been explained multiple times.  It really is a mute point at this stage.

Collisions

The collision model is totally dependant on your front end. This is to say if YOUR computer detects a collision then damage is assigned to YOUR aircraft. If a collision is detected on BOTH computers then damage is assigned to BOTH aircraft.
If you are too busy looking out the front to see the guy flying up your six then that's not HT's problem and if you're not quick enough to evade before you hit the guy in front of you that's also not HT's problem. I think you are not taking into account the fact your aircraft extends further than your cockpit view.
Much research has been put into the HO/ram debate and the results are conclusive. I've been HO'd by guys 600yds off my top side due to network issues, and we were in the same physical country. I've also posted an account of getting my wing shot off from an aircraft 1k+ off my starboard side flown by a guy on the other side of the world.
The fact of the matter is if YOUR computer sees a kill then you get a kill, if YOUR computer sees a collision you get a collision. Would you rather it be different? How many kills do you think you would get if it was required than BOTH computers see the impact. It cuts both ways you know...;)

Fixed for readability.

JB21, you have been flying since tour 71 (under jb21 at least), thats the beginning '02, if by now you dont understand it, and understand it is the way it has to be (due to the limitations of the speed of light and all), then you wont. So to make it easier on you ...

Yes, the collision model is programmed to send you (and only you) back to the tower anytime there is a collision regardless if its your fault or not.

No, what you see is what you get.  It's the same for everyone.  Stop colliding.

I agree with flying through planes with guns blazing is wrong and why we need the collisions.Agreed.   When I started flying here in the MA I used to do the same thing, so collisions WHERE off in the MA when there was only one.And when was this?   Stop being so rude to folks trying to make a diff.
I am one who tries to make a diff. Search collision model works, "bronk" by the poster. then look at the pretty pictures.   Most of you dont even use your game ID gotta hide behind some other name so you can be rude!
I've been Bronk since AW on AOHell, can you say something similar?   If you dont have anything constructive to say, please shhhh. My pics are constructive, take the time to study them. Then you try a constructive post instead of ,WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

Collision model IS unfair, super unfair. It's perfectly fair.   Im chasing enemy plane chasing my squad mate and a C205 comes down and trys to shoot me down, misses, tries to pull out but collides into me and I go down everytime!  NO thread I have read explains to me why this is fair.  Because on his front end he didn't hit you. He did his job and avoided you. You on the other hand felt no action need be taken and flew into him.

I know how to fly.  I know how to shoot.  I know how to HO WITHOUT colliding.  I dont know how to cheat!  Maybe get a slower connection?  Switch to DSL?  Whatever will make the Coll Model work in my favor, oh wait, that would not be fair!  Nothing to do with connection. The game is played on your front end, not HTCs servers. What YOU see is what YOU get. The sooner you figure that out the happier you'll be.

If HT doesnt care about these posts, then I am truely sorry you wasted your time writing back to my thread!  Then again, you replied!

HT has explained it many times as have many others. When people refuse to search or are to stubborn and refuse to learn. You kind of shrug your shoulder and say "It works the way I want it to work." and leave it at that.

Any of these should explain how it works. Well some place in them.

I agree with flying through planes with guns blazing is wrong and why we need the collisions.

So then what exactly do you want then ?

When I started flying here in the MA I used to do the same thing, so collisions WHERE off in the MA when there was only one.

How many years have you been playing Aces High ? I am into my 6th year I believe and collisions have ALWAYS been on since I started.

Stop being so rude to folks trying to make a diff.

Problem is ... you aren't trying to make a difference at all. This is your 1st post since your original posting and you have not "suggested" anything the would improve upon the current collision model ... so your not really trying to make a difference ... your just pissin' and moanin' because you really don't understand the collision model.

Most of you dont even use your game ID gotta hide behind some other name so you can be rude!  If you dont have anything constructive to say, please shhhh

I have been SlapShot on the BBS and in-game since day 1.

Collision model IS unfair, super unfair.

WOW ... it's not just unfair ... it's SUPER unfair ... I should probably rethink my stance.

Im chasing enemy plane chasing my squad mate and a C205 comes down and trys to shoot me down, misses, tries to pull out but collides into me and I go down everytime!  NO thread I have read explains to me why this is fair.

If you had it your way then the guy who did collide with you would have not received any damage and neither would you .... BUT ... since he was guns blazing at you ... you still would have been torn to shreds regardless, and he would not have been forced to avoid you and he would have flown away completely unscathed. I would assume then, at that point, you would be back in here saying that that is not fair.

The problem here is not the collision model ... it's your SA and a failure to dodge an incoming attacker.

Maybe get a slower connection?  Switch to DSL?  Whatever will make the Coll Model work in my favor, oh wait, that would not be fair!
