Forum Wish - Topic Creators
« on: February 15, 2008, 12:18:19 PM »
Recently it came to my attention that when someone who creates a forum topic and attempts to erase their post it won't work. This is rather odd because it does state when you go to 'Edit" mode:

To delete this post, check the box to the left and then click the button to the right.
Note: deleting this post will result in the deletion of the entire thread if this post is the first post in the thread.

Although it does mention it, it doesn't work. Here is the message you would receive if you do try to delete a thread you just made:

You do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
You do not have permission to access the page that you were trying to. Are you trying to edit someone else's post or trying to access administrative features? Check that you are allowed to perform this action in the Forum Rules.
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I would like to be able to delete my topics in the required 2 hour editing period. The main reason for this is because I have made threads that had no value to them because I resolved the question I was asking and no longer required assistance.

I can see no downside to this considering it would only free up space on the forums.
