Been seeing ads for this DVD on SciFi ch.  I don't remember it in theaters but it looked good and had a good write up on IMDB.

I saw it and it was GREAT as far as scifi flicks go.  I won't sit here and debate the physics of it all but as far as movies and effects go it wag good.

Yeah, saw it a couple of months ago. Made by the same guy who did 28 Days Later (same leading actor too). Most intelligent sci-fi in years.

Just saw it tonight. Good movie. Has a bit of a "2001: Space Odyssey" feel to it.

I couldn't beleive that they made this on a fairly small budget as well.  (small by today's scifi standards)

You can save a lot on not having 10 million Dollar actors. Acting performances usually improve too.

It's a shame it made Boyle disgusted from making SF movies.

He is disgusted because the "so called" good actors are asking such exorbitant prices for parts in minor category films.
BTW Viking, your sig is excellent. such a libertarian concept for someone so apparently left wing.

Viking I can't recall where I read it, but from what I remember, he said it was nearly impossible to manage everything involved in making a sci-fi movie.  It was specific to SF, not just the actors' fee.

Heh ... "apparently" is the operative word. "Deceivingly" might be an even better word. Just because you more often than not find me in opposition to the warmongering right-wing authoritarian people here doesn't make me left wing. Yes I am a libertarian.

Yes, that's probably why you usually see SF movies having a lot of executive producers and assistant directors.

You're right about the actors.  I only recognized on of them but the acting in the movie was great.
