Why the delay for Frame 1 start? (Jokers Jokers)
« on: January 19, 2008, 06:43:13 PM »
I said I would give an explanation, so I will.

Back in December a new squad went to apply for FSO membership. They attempted to apply two times. During this time they also tried to fly in FSO as a squad, but were told they would have to wait for the next event (January). They respected that, and made efforts to follow our rules and sign-up procedures.

Unfortunately for whatever reason their sign-up information did not go through the AH site correctly, and both times their squad showed in the AH site with no CO or XO, and no E-mail addresses to reach anyone with. Those application being useless, were deleted. Joker2 (CO) did not realize this, and made no efforts to change anything, as he was unaware there was a problem. I could not help the matter, as for one I was on vacation, and two, I had NO contact information of any kind. I didn't even know who was CO. Also normally when this happens it is just a single person that is trying to start a squad of one or two people for FSO, and is not a legitimate attempt to attend. (this happens 2-4 times a month)

The difference this time? Last Friday "Joker2" and "Cmustard" (XO), came into the SEA arena with 13 other people ready to fly in FSO as a legitimate registered squad in FSO. Not knowing they were not. They were all in uniform, polite, respectful, and understanding of the situation, BUT, still wanting to fly. After realizing that the Axis side was going to be very short on numbers, I consulted with Drano (Axis CiC) with much help and patience  from him and the rest of you in FSO (Thank you all :) ). We found an assignment for these guys and they were able to fly.

Were these "walk-on players"? Not really, these guys were organized in a uniform, and ready to go. Plus they had tried several times to register properly, and were unknowing of the problems with their registration for FSO. Plus they had been turned away from FSO in the past. this was not just one or two rouge players trying to find a ride with somebody.

So in this case I put out the effort to try and accommodate these guys, plus the Axis needed them.

They are now properly registered in FSO, and will be in this event on the Axis side.

Welcome "Jokers Jokers" :)

I will address legitimate comments and questions.

We're all big boys, a slight delay for the start of an FSO with over 300 participants is nothin but a speed bump imho :)

Welcome to FSO "Jokers Jokers".

To attest to their "real squad" behavior and status, they have flown in the AHXAR in uniform for a few weeks now too.

It was the right thing to do.  Like someone above said just a speedbump.
