« on: January 21, 2008, 08:04:58 PM »
hey guys,

i have a new computer,

and i cant play AH.
my problem is,

when i load the game and select my arena;
my computer locks up and i get BSOD [Blue Screen Of Death]
and if i dont get it at the tower, ill get it in the hanger,
I looked it up and it says that its my drivers,
which it isnt, i updated all my drivers, for my graphics card,
I did the "Start -> Run -> DXDIAG"
thing and everythings fine,

but when i load up AH and get to the tower, it still happens,

any help?

thanks.

oh and my graphics card is a nividia GeForce 6200, and i have a Saitek X52.

Latest drivers ar enot neccessarily the best.  I'd need to see the output of a DXDIAG to make any guesses.

well thats what i mean where can i see the output?

will i see it after i do the Start->Run->DXDIAG thing?

Edit:

when i get the BSOD it says my problem is "nv4_disp"
and when i do Start->Run->DXDIAG under "Display" it says

Main Driver: nv4_disp.dll

so i guess thats my problem?

You have to click the "save all information" button and it will give you an opportunity to enter a file name and location.  This will create a text file with the information Skuzzy needs...

I have a feeling you either have corrupted video drivers, or a video card going bad.

First try removing the drivers through ADD/REMOVE programs.

Then try reinstalling them.

If you're still having problems, go into your drivers control panel and make sure everything is set up for best performance.

Then if no-go, try removing and reinstalling your card (might have a poor contact in the slot).

I had the 6200 up until a few weeks ago, and while not the best, it actually didn't do too bad on Aces High.

512 texts... sliders halfway... 30-40fps

I just upgraded to a 7900GS...

1024 texts, hi-res... sliders FULL...  65-75FPS (steady)

Might be a great excuse to upgrade!
