HELP! PC Won't Boot
« on: March 10, 2008, 07:16:39 PM »
My Logitech Cordless Trackman and keyboard are both connected through a Belkin powered 7 port hub.  Lately, I have had to reset the plug on the Trackman sometimes after boot and a couple times after it had already been working.  Today, it worked after boot but stopped responding after 30 minutes use.  The keyboard was also non-responsive.  I restarted the PC twice with no change. I suspected the USB controller and connected a PS2 mouse and keyboard after shutdown.  Now the PC won't boot.  Fans and lights all come on but no video input to the monitors.  Same result with the PS2 mouse/keyboard unplugged.

I am thinking motherboard or possibly PSU.  Both were new when I put this together bout 16 months ago. It is set up as Raid 1 through the onboard EZ Raid controller with 2 SATA 2 Seagates and a third backup IDE Seagate.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
TIA

But, Rosco, as far as I know you're the only one to successfully integrate squirrel wheels inside a ATX mid-tower. The rest of us still use outmoded electronic systems.  :t

I would try resetting the CMOS first and if that doesn't help, start thinking how to break your lucky upgrade break to your wife/gf/bf or whatever institution you need to face in that case.
