I love it when you saddle up on a lala in a pony/dora/tiffie/tempest, they remind me of that Nat Geo vidoe where the lions get p****d at the hyena's and decide to take one out. It runs but it knows it's already dead.

That and the low alt split-S make for great amusement (you know where the lala tries to take a shortcut to china).

I believe the best point made here is encounters with an LA7, generally speaking provide the least enjoyment to a large proportion of the playerbase. Rare is it when one has the opportunity to meet a LA7 1 on 1, co-e and have a good fight of it. There are plenty people who fly the LA7 who are capable of providing this, but they are largely in the minority.

Most of the time you're going to get a HO, a runner, a collision. or get picked while already engaged in a good fight.

Now that is not to say that you don't have these problems with other planes, but a pilot with the personality which fits the above categories is likely to employ the LA7 because its strengths provide excellent opportunities to do all the above. It certainly does those things better all round than any of the other 'dweeb' planes in the set. As such, LALA hate is understandable.

Excellent rant Red!

Hating a plane because it's a capable platform seems bizarre to me.

Threads like these are all the more reason to leave other aircraft in the hangar and take up the -7.

In some ways I agree, but the LA-7 is a niche plane.  About the only time I use it is for base defense.  Since it has such short legs, is short on effective ords, it's not the beat all end all plane.

It has it's place but 1v1/1v2 I can dispatch them with little effort...unless they run...and they often do.

I am not sure if the Temp can run a lala down, but if it does, what exactly is it going to do to it?   It better not miss the snap shot when the lala turns around to kill him :lol

Not really, just convince them that the engine was made in Detroit and every one will fall in love with the P7 :lol
