badmouthing a dead guy is pretty low, especially if it's not deserved at all. [/B]

Ummm actually there has been much discussion of his drug use. So ya, it seems he  was a  "coke snorting waste man". While I feel bad for his family, I don't have so much  sympathy for him. Billions of people have to deal with stress and anxiety and get by just fine with out anti-depressants and sleepign pills.  This guy made very definite and unwise life choices that led to his death.  His death may indeed by ruled accidental, but it wasn't in a sense.  Just like every other drug overdoes isn't really an accident.

You and a couple other people in this thread want to make yourselves feel holier-than-thou by belittling others that aren't wailing and gnashing their teeth in horror over the drug overdose death of another spolied human who did little more than entertain some people.
He didn't cure the common cold or cancer.  He made movies and millions upon millions of dollars  in the process.  In spite of his fame and huge wealth, he turned to drug use to cope with... stress.  Gimme a break.

I am definitely not holier-than-thou.  Read through some of my posts in the past and you definitely can see that.  My post regarding people who commit suicide being very sick was meant to point out just that.  People who commit suicide definitely are very sick individuals.  God has said through the bible that he will look after the sick.  Therefore, it seems logical to accept that a suicide is not going to "burn for eternity", instead being accepted with open arms by the Lord.

As for Mr. Ledger, I have no knowledge of what he died of, just that he died.  As usual, the newsies are busy filling the waves with any tidbit of info they can find whether it be fact or fiction.  Nothing new there.  Some may rush to say he died of this or that, but in reality we are not aware of the facts.  Not that it matters as he has still passed, but I prefer to wait to be sure of what he died of.

I believe that it is tragic to see a well known and talented individual die just as much as I believe it is tragic when anyone else who "dies before their time" or atleast as we see it being before their time.  Life is stressful everyday.  Unfortunately some people are not equipped to handle this because they are very sick psychologically.  Whether they be famous or not, they are still sick, and sick people deserve our passion and concern.  Being in the spot light is probably just as difficult (in ways) as not, in that some one is always trying to make a buck off you.  Look at Brittany Spears and the new Celebrity Rehab for examples.

In the end it does not matter whether one is a celebrity or an ordinary joe.  The only worry for the deceased will be whether they are accepted into heaven or not.  The only differences that we see are whether the deceased is mentioned on the front page or the obituaries.

Attacking suicide and people who've killed themselves is not going to do a damn thing towards convincing other people not to take that step. Rather, you're FAR more likely to make someone with suicidal tendencies think there's something even more seriously wrong with themselves and NOT get the help they need. That's one reason people contemplating taking their own lives often DON'T come forward for help already: They're afraid of being judged for it.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

steve, i wasn't totally aware of his heroin use. apparently he'd been battling it for a while, but he was trying (and i think HAD) been off the stuff for a while.

he was a good actor, and i'm just saying it sucks to lose someone with a lot of talent. i was really looking forward to seeing him in batman, it looks from the trailers like he's really developed a great but disturbing character.

from what i heard his trouble sleeping may have stemmed from the character. he locked himself away ina  hotel room for a month developing the traits and mannerisms of a psychopath. when you act well, and you put all your soul into a character like him, it's easy to see why it took a toll on him mentally. i doubt it was suicide, but he was on a lot of anti-depressants and various sleeping pills and antihistamines.

i would like to see the autopsy report before i draw any solid conclusion, but even if it was suicide by a herion overdose, i'd still repect the guy.

i don't see how you can call him a spoilt human being just for being successful and talented. i for one will mourn his passing, he was a promising young actor, but even if you don't, i'm not someone who looks very highly on belittling the dead, even if they did have issues.

there's no reason to assume this is anything other than an accidental death due to totally legal pills he was taking after performing as a very dark and disturbed character. show some respect for the guy, even if you didn't like him or his films (he was a nice guy and some of his films we really good, so why you'd dislike him i dunno).

so RIP heath, was looking forward to more of your work.

I enjoyed many of his movies:  The Patriot, 10 things I hate about you, A Knight's Tale.  I could have done without watching any part of Casanova, though.  :)

Bigs, I just don't place any more value on his life because he was talented.
I don't dislike the guy but consider this:  he was a person with enough money to buy anything he wanted.  He was famous, rich and adored.
Can we agree he had more going for him in this world than say... almost 100% of the general population?
He couldn't cope with life like a big boy so he turned to numerous narcotic drugs, often using more than one at the same time. He made conscious decisions to put his health at risk, opting to escape reality with dangerous drugs when he had a responsibility to stay alive and sober(his daughter).  I find his behavior to be selfish and irresponsible. As a result, I feel little sympathy for him.  I feel bad that his daughter has to grow up w/out a dad... and for no good reason.

Police added that they did not suspect foul play. Initial reports claimed actress Mary-Kate Olsen owned the apartment Ledger was found in, but police denied that the residence was Olsen's. A police source later said the maid or the housekeeper called Olsen and her security team responded to the apartment on Broome Street.

Olsen also released a statement thru her publicist that she did not own the apartment.

If you have some different info then by all means post a link.

I thought he was pretty good in the patriot, and from the previews it looks like he did a good job as a joker.

I'm sure his wife or  people close knew he was on a couple prescription pills for depression, which alone could kill him.
To me it sounds like he just liked to get f-d up, and he took it one step to far like so many people do daily.

In fact i bet he was wacked out of his mind when they were filming batman.  He probably didn't have to really act to much to play a nutjob.

To bad no one he knew intervened when they could.  Instead, everyone is going to say how shocked and upset they are, instead of doing something when they could.
I don't feel bad, he was a grown man, with millions of dollars, a wife and daughter, and he dug his own grave because he had a weak will and weak friends.
