Does it only matter who holds the territories on the final day?  To me, teams should get points for each day the goals are met or everyone will just wait until the final day and attempt to milkrun the bases.

Good point republic.  Unfortunately we don't have the log systems in the AvA like we do for the SEA otherwise it would be a no-brainer to accomplish it.

We're working on the second set of objectives, more on that later.

Maybe as a proxy the staffers could check at two random times each day and note who held which base?  Lots of work, but would be better than having a whole lot of useless followed by a single instant that it mattered.

This being said can anyone say that the last three weeks in the the AvA have not been the best in recent memory?

Great job AvA team!

Cant believe its already been that long. Its been fun.

Maybe the AvA staff could have key dates and times, preset that they check the arena. Say, Jan24 1400, Jan28 0800,Feb 4 2200, etc. Keep it to themselves. That way they dont have to check as much and can tally those days, while we go on fighting like every day matters.

Just brainstorming here. Like that point thing you were talking about. Come in once or twice a day, tally what enemy bases who has. Base 1 point, Secondary Target Base 2 points, and Primary Target Base 3 points. At the end of the war those points could maybe double, base 2 points, est. Winner gets one free plane and what ever thier sides points can buy. Losers points get cut in half and if they can buy a plane they can, if not they can save them, kinda like roll over minutes. Plane points can be desided by thier ENY. A 5ENY plane will cost more then a 10ENY.

The war has only been going on for about a week.

I agree, I know Oldman goes in usually daily, he could take a quick screenshot of the map before he logs off.  Otherwise...it's a real downer to play all week having fun only to have some goober or goober squadron run the bases without opposition to "win teh war" all by themselves.  Really kinda squashes the fun.

I know every time I'm in it has see-sawed back and forth quite drastically, would definitely be a shame to see all that effort go to waste.

I have to agree that a couple of snapshots each day at unknown (to the players) times would help.  Or, maybe only 1 snapshot a day, near the end of peak play times.  A snapshot some time during the day still rewards milkrunners.  Having a head start going into peak times is still a significant advantage.

Or, might a suggest a daily snapshot, near the end of peak play time, that IS known to all of the players.  Then, everyone will know when they are needed.

This (in whatever form) seems to me like an effective compromise since we can't coad the arena to only allow base capture when opposed, and we can't recruit a 24 hour babysitter to turn capture on and off.  We don't want to penalize people that only can play at off-peak times.  We have already established that we can't rely on the players to police themselves (including me :o  ).

Thanks guys for all the effort :aok

i think it all comes down to the end. at the end of 3 weeks, whoever owns the bases wins. when the truces are signed, the bases belong to whoever is the winner. if the allieds have more then the axis, they win. in the middle of WW2 did they all stop and check and give points to the guy with the most real estate??? no its the guy who has all the chips in the end. now if the creators would be so kind as to give the Axis B29's with 2 thermonuclear devices, we can fix this once and for all!! again just my 2 cents--

The catch 22:(

What about, for daily reporting only, we ask the Squadron COs or XOs to report captures of perked bases made by their squad in their presence.  This gives some actual report on not only what base has been captured but also, by who.  Non affiliated or maybe "milked" base captures will not get reported and become even less important in terms of gaining notice (so what, a chess piece grabbed a lot of undefended bases:huh).

:cryPretty much what you do to a small child yelling for attention, you step over (ignore) them until they adjust their behavior properly.

 How did they get field reports to HQ during the war?   However it is or will be done, I sure am having a ball.  See you all on the field.
